Today was my 4th day in Italy. Marie and I
started off by taking the bus in Torino to explore the area. It was a mission
to figure out how to take the buses but we got it right. I ate some watermelon while we waited for the bus.
While on the bus we
ran into that family with the 2 girls again. They were going to the One
Direction concert. All the kids here are obsessed with One Direction. Again she
got all giggly when she saw me. She sat right near me and kept starring at me.
I’m pretty sure her mom told her to stop starring at me in Italian. Our first
stop was the Egyptian Musuem.
It was really cool to see all the different
mummies and their tombs.
Afterwards we got our first pizza of Italy. It was
delicious. It was marinara pizza.
Again there was another lesbian there and she
kept starring at me. I don’t know what it is with me and lesbians. Afterwards
we did some shopping & walked through the Palazzo Reale. It was a huge
courtyard. We spent the afternoon walking up a huge hill in the heat to a
castle called Villa Della Regina.
The castle was awesome. It showed all of the
Queen’s different rooms
and there was one room which was called the “China
Room”.
The days seem to fly by here
because before you know it, its 7:00 while its only 1:00 at home. We went to
this really good restaurant for dinner called 148. I got gnocchi. It tastes like mac and cheese
kind of. They eat dinner so late here. They won’t open a restaurant til 7 and
won’t serve food until 7:30. By the time dinner is over it’s already late. They
give you endless wine which is cool. I
bought 2 postcards today that I plan on sending to my parents and grandparents.
Tomorrow is the first day of camp! Alania is picking us up at 10 AM. It should
be interesting because we won’t know much of what they are saying. Julia told
me how some of the older kids mock you. I will report all about it tomorrow.
